Final Anka Files
I've been home for 4 days now and have had lots of time to reflect on a very fun tour with Mr. Anka. We played Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg to close out the tour. The crowds were great in every place but especially in Winnipeg. The MTS Center is the hockey arena there and the cut it off at about a third and filled it up with about 4000 people. It was great. When we played in Saskatoon we were treated by Mr. Anka to a very nice dinner at a high class restaurant which I thought was a very nice touch. I was lucky enough to get to sit across from Paul and a respect that was already there grew ten fold. He was great to talk to.
As I said in previous posts Paul Anka is a true professional in every way. No one can deny that he is one of the finest song writers around with so many great songs to his credit and this tour was a real eye opener for me to his body of work. His voice is amazing, he sings in tune and sings with such power and conviction. His ability to hold an audiences' attention is superb and he structures his sets so wonderfully. A great experience all around.
I felt fall in the air today which brings a big smile to my face. We have a spectacular lineup for October and I look forward to seeing all of you down here soon.
